Testimonials

‘During 2018 I received the advice and support of Benjamin Zawalich to apply to the Master in Contemporary Art Practice of the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) and the Master in Artscience of the Artscience Interfaculty in the Royal Academy of Art of The Hague (Netherlands). Both applications required the presentation of complex projects and online interviews. Benjamin helped me through the process and was accepted into both programs. In the case of the Royal Academy of Art, I received the Holland Scholarship due to my development during the entrance exam and the application (it is the most important Scholarship the Netherlands has to offer and covers the full tuition of the program). This allowed me to take part in the course. This current year I will graduate from the Master in Artscience program after two years of study.’ - Gabriela Acha, Argentina.

‘After the workshop I applied for a one-month residency at Vermont Studio Center in the USA, where I received a full scholarship and attended in February of 2019. I used the acceptance as well as the application I built during the workshop to then apply for funding from Chile’s National Arts Fund where I was awarded a stipend to fund my personal art practice for an entire year. It helped me to get back into the art world after seven years out of the loop. The work I made during that year was exhibited in my first solo exposition in March of 2020 at Santiago gallery, The Intuitive Machine.’ - Pablo Selín Carrasco Armijo, Chile

‘I submitted applications to Yale, CalArts, Pratt and Hunter. Ben helped me through the interview process just by having conversations with me about my work and ideas so that even though I had no idea what kind of interview questions I would get, I was confident and prepared for whatever they would ask. I ended up being accepted to three of the four schools I applied to. The only rejection I received was from Yale. CalArts and Pratt both offered me generous scholarships. After this achieving this outcome, Ben assisted me with negotiating the different offers and advising me with the steps to take onwards. I now have open slots in Hunter and Pratt, for the Spring and Fall semester of 2020 respectively.’ - Benjamín Urzúa, Chile
